My Settings
My Settings enables you to view and manage all the changes being applied to a device from your defined policies. When viewing you can remove Policies or navigate directly to the layer of policy the setting has been configured for adjustment. Changes must be saved before they will apply to a device.
On the My Settings page the following tabs will appear based on the context within the application: This Policy, This Device and Changes. The Changes tab appears when a change has been made to the policy, these changes must be saved or discarded during your session, or they will be lost.
This Policy Tab
The This Policy tab displays all the parameter changes that have been made within the policy being edited and when viewing an Individual Device Policy, it will reflect all changes across all inherited policy levels for the specific device being edited. These parameters can be further modified or removed. If any changes are made in this tab, the change will be applied in whatever management section you have open. For example Remove All will remove all settings that have been created at the current Policy level being viewed.
This Device Tab
This Device tab displays the configuration settings retrieved from supported devices and reflects the locally configured settings.
Note: Some Poly devices support multiple layers of configuration and therefore may be represented multiple times with different sources identified. Local device priority of configuration is such that these will take precedence over any Lens Policy.
To access the This Device tab the following must be true:
- You must be an Admin
- The Device must be Online
- The Voice Device must have a minimum UCS software version of 5.9.8
- The Video Device must have a minimum PolyOS software version of 3.0.1
Column | Description |
---|---|
Category | This section lists the settings on the device that have been configured locally. |
Source | This column displays the configuration source method for this setting. * Web - Set through the Device Web Interface. * Local - Set through the phone interface directly. |
Changes Tab
The Changes tab displays when a change has been made to the Policy and displays all the changes you have made at the current level but have yet not saved. Here, you can review, modify, remove, or save your changes to policy. Selecting the circle x icon will discard a specific pending change and revert to the previous setting state. Alternatively, you can select Discard to cancel all pending changes and revert to the previous policy configuration.
Selecting Apply will save the changes to Policy.
Note: When applying changes at an Individual Device Policy level, the device will be notified of the updated changes and will force an immediate update of configuration.
Once the changes have been applied to the device or policy, they will be merged into the This Policy tab.
For your convenience, when changes are made a Review Changes link is displayed at the top of the Settings page, above the Discard and Apply buttons for quick access. Selecting the Review Changes, will open My Settings > Changes.
Settings Inheritance
The Policy level is displayed in the Policy Inheritance column and is only visible when viewing Individual Device Policy. When a change is made on a Setting, you will notice that the inheritance will update to the Policy type of This Device Policy.
While you can modify inherited policy settings from an individual device policy, this will create a new Individual Device Policy leaving the original setting applied to all other devices. If you wish to update the inherited policy so that it changes for all affected devices, click the link to navigate to the policy where the setting has been created. You should save any pending changes before navigating away.
To the right of each Settings field an Policy Inheritance status is listed, which indicates what Policy is controlling the setting of the field. For additional information see, Policies.
