Acoustic Events

The Acoustic Events Report provides a comprehensive history of acoustic events during conversations using supported Poly products. It includes data on initial and mitigated dB levels, noise reduction, event duration, and call times.

Requirements

  • Poly Lens Desktop version 1.3.0, or higher
  • Devices that support Acoustic Events Reporting
  • SS0 or Loginless deployment of Lens Desktop for Windows

Enabling Acoustic Events

To generate an Acoustic Events Report, the device must support Acoustic Events and the connected Lens Desktop App must have the Acoustic Event Reporting feature enabled via Policy.

Enable using Policy

  1. In the Poly Lens cloud select Manage > Policies > Account/Device Group/Site/Device User Group > Device Models tab.
  2. Select a Lens Desktop App from the Device Model list.
  3. Select Advanced, and enable the Acoustic Event Reporting.
  4. Select Apply.

Note: You can also enable Acoustic Event Reporting on a single app instance. This is often used for testing before wide-scale rollout.

  1. Select Manage > Policies > Individual > Device Models tab in the Poly Lens cloud.
  2. Select a Lens Desktop App from the Device Model list.
  3. Select Advanced and enable Acoustic Event Reporting.
  4. Select Apply.

Create an Acoustic Events Report

  1. Go to the ACCOUNT menu and select your Account from the list.
  2. Select Insights > Reports.
  3. Select Acoustic Events from the side tab.
Note: Requires Poly Plus Enterprise License to access.
  4. Set the Date Range to show available data.
  5. Select the Time setting ("your local time zone" or UTC).
Note: The time setting button will display the abbreviation for your local time zone (MT, CT, etc.).
  6. The Acoustic Events information will display in the list. Acoustic Events are defined as a high level signal that meets certain pre-defined parameters – which could be loud sounds, very short electric bursts (aka clichés) and digital data clichés.
  7. Detailed information gathered on each acoustic event includes initial dB level, Actual dB which is the mitigated level experience by the user, Reduction dB which is the amount the headset reduced the noise level, Duration of event in seconds, limiter, as well as the time of the call start and end when the event happened.
